Series: Beyond the Browning of America

A series of three one hour programs documenting the impact and struggles of Latinos in the United States. The first program significantly begins with Operation Bootstrap: an early NAFTA type experiment in Puerto Rico that created economic instability in Puerto Rico and the efforts of "Christan Soldiers", Protestant Evangelicals as new cross bearers of capitalism in Latin America. The second program examines the often degrading conditions in which immigrants are forced to live and work, and their battles to demand a decent life. The series concludes with a journey into Latin Culture and a reminder of the immense richness that Latino culture has brought to the U.S.
