Healing Justice Campaign

Please contribute to this valuable work by contributing to their Indiegogo campaign.

Project Hajra, partnered with CONNECT-NYC, uses peer support models that are survivor centered to address interpersonal violence. This has included:

--Developing individual and community-centered safety plans related to crisis.
--Working with family and friends as part of safety plans; helping them become supporters while factoring in situations such as in-law abuse and other types of familial abuse.
--Engaging religious leaders in discussions about how to better support survivors.
--Connections to social services and legal organizations when survivor-directed.
--Advocacy related to improving conditions and situations for women asking for religious divorces; especially as they intersect with U.S. law.
--Equipping community members to act as resources and support when there is a crisis.

Your gifts will help decrease isolation in our communities, by paying for things like:
--child-care (to make our gatherings as accessible as possible)
--interpreters/translators (helping foster community growth and effort while making sure that folks have comfortable language access)
--transportation assistance; including metro cards, gas, and assistance with someone to help drive folks back and forth from meetings.
--stipend for a peer interpersonal violence advocate
--light overhead costs

We're hoping that most of the child care, interpretation, and driving labor can be done from talented folks within our community who are already passionate about becoming advocates; fostering another sense of collective response.

Send Video

Providing venues for grassroots, independent producers and videographers is central to the Deep Dish TV mission. The series and programs that we distribute via satellite and cable TV stations and on the Internet are collaged from the work of media makers from all over the world. We invite you to participate in our current series by contributing your short video or footage to one or more of the programs. The terms and how to submit videos are explained on each of our current project pages. We invite you to join our network of hundreds of videographers, producers and artists.
