Fred Ho - a legend and a legacy. Composer, aurthor, scholar, provocatur, teacher warrior, and bad-ass baratone saxaphonist. Fred Ho, he has produced over 20 albums of ferocious music. He had a sound and a force not like anyone else. His music has honored other warriors like Assata Shakur, Mohammed Ali, as well as the unknown warriors who work the fields, mold the bricks, drive the iron spikes of railroad tracks, built the assembly lines of that illusive thing called progress.
Magdalena Gomez - Introducing Fred Ho at Amherst Media April 5, 2012

As a founding member of Scientific Soul Sessions, Fred Ho is an inspiration to musicians, composers, artists, scholars and revolutionaries everywhere, with friends and comrades all over the world.
Fred Ho, matriarchalist warrior, revolutionary baritone saxophonist, composer, band leader, theorist, author, producer, teacher, and revered combat martial artist, made his journey to the spirit world in the morning of Saturday, April 12, 2014. He passed away peacefully in his Brooklyn home, surrounded by womyn warriors and an abundance of love. He is survived by his mother Frances Lu Houn, and sisters Flourence Houn and Flora Houn Hoffman.

Fred Ho was a creative visionary who innovated works of art – music, martial arts operas, manga-inspired comic books, revolutionary manifestos, handmade clothing and accessories – that merged revolutionary politics with a pioneering Afro –Asian arts and culture aesthetic. Ho created music and embodied the kind of revolutionary politics that one else could do or create. He was a theorist and strategist developing forward-thinking principles for building a new society based on values of matriarchy, ecosocialism, indigeneity, and marooning.
